Bowie man killed in crash

A 31-year-old Bowie man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 287 on Feb. 19.
The Department of Public Safety reports the wreck occurred at Hwy. 287 and East Scaling Road. Andrew Cliffor Ericson was driving a 2002 Chevrolet SUV north on Hwy. 287 when his vehicle suffered a front tire blowout. This caused the SUV to go into a side skid and then entered the right barrow ditch where it rolled several times. Ericson was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
