LOCAL GOLF: Walker, Marlow team up to win at Twisted Oaks

The Twisted Oaks Ladies Golf Association had its monthly play day on Jan. 17 at the course here in rural Bowie.
The two-woman teams comprised of Donna Walker and Barbara Marlow and Diana Hamilton and Bobbie Zamenski both tied for first place with 44s.
Malinda Peters and Karol Solomon were third, scoring a 48.
Sunday Big Game
On Sunday, the men took to the course for the Big Game played with a best two-balls-out-of-three format.
Roy Stanley, Trace Morris and Gary Bogan won the front nine with a scorching three-under par.
The low team score on the back nine was turned in by Kelly Miller, Ronnie Miller and Ken Rhoads at three-over par.
Stanley, Morris and Bogan won the overall tournament at one-over par.
Stanley was also the individual standout, firing a two-under 68 with a pair of eagles during his round.
The Big Game takes place at Twisted Oaks at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
