Emergency personnel respond to accident
This semi-truck cab came to a stop in the median on U.S. Highway 27 near the rest stop at Sunset/Hwy. 101 exit. It is unclear if there was a trailer being pulled or if another vehicle was involved. The accident call was around 3:30 p.m. Monday. No one was treated by Bowie EMS, so it appears there were no injuries. Traffic slowed in the northbound lane during the incident. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
