Hunters required to have new licenses

All hunters are reminded licenses expire each year on Aug. 31, so a new license is required prior to hunting, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Licenses may be purchased at most local sporting goods retailers, TPWD law enforcement offices, online through the TPWD website at www.tpwd.state.tx.us/buy, or by phone at 1-800-895-4248.
The call center hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and there is a $5 convenience fee for each phone or online transaction.
For online and phone orders, a physical license will be mailed within three business days. During that time period, a transaction receipt will be provided for sufficient proof of a hunting license.
Hunting and fishing regulations for the new season can be found in the 2014-15 Outdoor Annual, available at retailers and online at www.txoutdoorannual.com.
