Boaters take to the lake as it reopens

Lake Amon G. Carter reopened last Friday after more than two weeks of closure due to flooding. This family took to the water on Monday afternoon to enjoy some swimming and sunshine. After unloading getting to the boat required a walk down the dock that remained partially underwater, which he said was pretty chilly. The lake level was 922.33 mean sea level Tuesday, rising from the 921.82 last Friday. The lake is full at 920. Boaters should exercise caution. (Photos by Barbara Green)

The beach area picnic and campsites at Selma Park remained covered by high water this week, despite the lake being reopened. Selma Park is open but there is no electric service to the campsites.
After getting unloaded this young man walks through what he said was pretty chilly water on the boat dock walk at Selma to get to the boat.
