City of Nocona adopts new Lake Nocona rules

The Nocona City Council once more heard from concerned Lake Nocona residents Monday night as they unveiled an updated slate of rules and regulations for the lake.
While the council made several changes to the rules following a meeting last Tuesday, after facing a crowd of about 90 Monday the panel approved the new ordinance.
City Secretary Revell Hardison said Tuesday there is still some work to do such as getting the docks numbered, but the lake committee had suggested an April 1 rollout for the rules. The first year also may be prorated.
The City of Nocona took possession of Lake Nocona on Dec. 31, 2019 as the North Montague County Water Supply District was dissolved. Along with the district, its rules, in place since it was created in 1960 were no longer applicable. Read the full story in the mid-week Bowie News.

Brief agenda awaits city council

Members of the Bowie City Council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. on May 13 in council chambers.
The meeting opens with a proclamation for Emergency Medical Services Week.
City Manager Bert Cunningham will report on recent rainfall problems, Smythe Street sidewalk project and the substation work.
There is only one item of new business an ordinance related to speed limits on specific streets. Public comments and approval of minutes wrap up the agenda.

Amon Carter Water Supply Corporation board sets meeting

The board of directors of the Amon Carter Lake Water Supply Corporation will meet at 6 p.m. at Carter Lake Baptist Church 4759 FM 1125.
Agenda items include an engineer’s presentation and resolution workshop with Daniel Deweber and Prairie Branch Properties.
