SPORTS BRIEFS: Holliday will have cross country meet Saturday

The Bowie and Nocona High School cross country teams will both compete in the Holliday Invitational this Saturday at Kiwanis Park in Wichita Falls.
The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the varsity girls, followed by the junior varsity girls at 9 a.m.
The varsity boys’ race is set for 9:30 a.m., and then the junior varsity boys will run at 10 a.m., if there are enough entries.
There will be junior high school girls’ and boys’ races at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
Henrietta, Holliday, City View, Quanah, Petrolia, Windthorst, Iowa Park, Wichita Falls Old High, Wichita Falls Hirschi, Iowa Park, Burkburnett and Dallas Bruce have all entered the meet.
Saint Jo adds JV contest
Saint Jo High School athletic director Chad Tallon has announced the Panthers will play a junior varsity football game at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday at Bryson.
The Panthers will also have a JV football game at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2 against Tioga in Saint Jo.
Lions Club golf tournament set for Saturday
The Bowie Lions Club will have its second annual four-man/ladies scramble at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 at Top O’ The Lake Country Club.
