Saint Jo residents debate water bills

Saint Jo city offices have fielded complaints regarding water bills, especially ones from the month of May, during recent weeks.
There was a special meeting on June 18 covering excessive water bills, and the regular meeting Wednesday night continued that trend.
Only one person appeared to state their concerns.
“We didn’t have a leak or fill a swimming pool,” said Melinda Griffen, on behalf of John Reed.
During dialogue, Griffen expressed her worry the City of Saint Jo isn’t reading water meters on a consistent basis. Water bills for Laverne Willmond, Jana Klyce and Rudene Horner were also discussed.
During the meeting, it was quoted Horner used 225,300 gallons during one month, 14,400 for Klyce, 13,900 for Reed and 14,400 for Willmond.
