Bowie Council meets Monday

Bowie City Councilors prepare for a brief agenda of business when they meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 that includes bids on five parcels of land being sold on foreclosure of tax liens.

Bids will be opened at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 for parcels located at 404 W. Wichita, 211 W. Nelson, 904 N. Mason, Lot one and lot three, both in the Ingram Addition. Appraised valued range from a high of $21,320 to a low of $750.

The City of Bowie Investment Policy will have its annual review and approve the 2014 tax roll. The consent agenda wraps up the agenda.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
