HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Unequal Halo set to debut

The Bowie High School football team had two chances to qualify for the State 7-on-7 Division II championships in College Station.
The state qualifiers will have to wear a mandatory piece of head gear.
The Unequal Halo, made by Unequal Technologies in Glen Mills, Pa., has been named the official protection for the state championships set for July 9-11.
The halo has military-grade materials layered inside it. The protection also is used by law enforcement and military personnel. It’s five times stronger than steel.
The equipment absorbs and disperses high-impact energy. It contours to a any players’ head and looks like a headband. Read more in the mid-week Bowie News.
