BEDC directors to meet Sept. 9

The Bowie Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors will meet at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 9.

Directors will receive an update on the Bowie Business Park development and a committee report on the recent Stakeholders Dinner.

The group’s strategic planning and needs assessment workshop will be scheduled. The agenda also lists consider a year-end budget for 2014-15 and the transfer of marketing funds from the operating to promotional fund.

An executive session is scheduled to deliberate real property and three economic development projects.

Executive Director Janis Crawley’s monthly report concludes the agenda.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
