Published

on

The Bowie High School varsity volleyball team swept Paradise by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-11 in this road District 3A-9 match.
Carcyn Robertson and Henslee Ogle are both 100 percent serving for the season so far, which has helped make the Lady Rabbits more formidable.
Bowie improved to 19-13, and 4-3 in 3A-9.
“I was pleased with taking the match in three on the road,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said, “and, more importantly, for surviving the first half in good position to make a move in the second half. We are fortunate to have five out of the final seven matches at home.”
Addy Cook produced a team-high 12 kills to go with eight assists, two digs and two ace serves.
Madison Little supplied nine kills.
Taylor Thompson was tops with 15 assists, and she also had five kills and two solo ace blocks. Karsen Morgan and Ogle both had six digs.
Mackenzie Tole recorded four kills, three ace blocks and three digs. Ivy Dennis added four kills and one solo ace block. Robertson added two digs.
Bowie played on the road at Henrietta on Tuesday.

Nocona falls in five again

The new press box was by the Southern Bleacher Company out of Graham. Athletic Director Black Crutsinger said they looked at a lot of press boxes and decided they liked the one at Lindsay High School and went with that model. Sean Hutson operated the crane from the Hurd Crane Service that put the press box up for Nocona.

In the eight-and-under division, Whitley Goins won the top cowgirl and Trell Carpenter won top cowboy. Goins got the fastest times in barrel racing, flags and mystery event. Carpenter got the fastest time in poles and goats.
