Bowie Memorial accepts bid to buy Rick’s Pharmacy; present operators to continue
While Bowie Memorial Hospital deals with its closure, the board sealed a deal to sell Rick’s Pharmacy, which will continue operation under Jimmy Crumpler.
The longtime pharmacist at Rick’s was the sole bidder for the business inventory.
BMH owns the business and inventory, while the pharmacy building is owned by Crumpler and Rick Rodrigs.
Board members met Friday morning and reviewed the bid, which was for the price of the inventory and equipment. It did not include any accounts receivable, which at the end of last month was about $59,000 according to Kimberly Cooper, comptroller.
The CEO said they did a complete inventory of the pharmacy during the previous two days and estimated a cost of $255,008.08 for the inventory. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
