Bowie Memorial accepts bid to buy Rick’s Pharmacy; present operators to continue

Published

While Bowie Memorial Hospital deals with its closure, the board sealed a deal to sell Rick’s Pharmacy, which will continue operation under Jimmy Crumpler.

The longtime pharmacist at Rick’s was the sole bidder for the business inventory.

BMH owns the business and inventory, while the pharmacy building is owned by Crumpler and Rick Rodrigs.

Board members met Friday morning and reviewed the bid, which was for the price of the inventory and equipment. It did not include any accounts receivable, which at the end of last month was about $59,000 according to Kimberly Cooper, comptroller.

The CEO said they did a complete inventory of the pharmacy during the previous two days and estimated a cost of $255,008.08 for the inventory. However, she added that number would change to include activities from Friday. Read the full story on how the board made plans to seek bids and proposals on six properties including the main building. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
