Saint Jo City Council debates animal control issues

The majority of Wednesday’s Saint Jo city council meeting centered on animal control issues.
Saint Jo resident Marty Reeves went before the council to appeal Saint Jo Police Chief Tyler Roy’s decision to remove Reeves’ dog, Tigger, from city limits.
Tigger allegedly was one of the dogs involved in an incident on Oct. 21 in the Saint Jo Independent School District agriculture barn where four show pigs were attacked and killed. Read the full story in the weekend News.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
