Montague County Commissioners to return public comments to the agenda

Responding to requests from the public, the Montague County Commissioner’s Court will add the public comment section back to its agenda, along with a revised set of rules of procedure, conduct and decorum.

A similar policy was implemented several years ago, but County Judge Rick Lewis said he is uncertain when or why the public comment portion was removed from the agenda.

“During the last few weeks I have gotten a lot of requests from citizens for a place on the agenda. Some are not talking about a problem, but may want to bring something to the court’s attention,” said Lewis.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
