HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bowie girls third at Burleson Tourney

The Bowie High School girls’ basketball team placed third at the Burleson Lady Elks Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Rabbits defeated Lake Country Christian 61-45 behind a 28-point performance from Courtney Brady.
The Conference 3A No. 6 team in the state bounced back after a pair of one-point losses during Friday’s games – falling to Bryan Rudder 47-46 and Lake Country Christian 48-47. Rudder is ranked in Conference 5A.
“We had a good weekend in Burleson,” head coach Colby Davis-Pastusek said. “We saw some things we need to improve on, but also did a lot of things very well.”
Davis-Pastusek said players had to adjust to new roles due to illness.
River Romine and Kamryn Cantwell were named to the all-tournament team. Read more in The Bowie News.
