HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bowie debilitated in loss

Bowie High School senior Trace Hardee canned a 3-pointer from the left wing with 1 minute, 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
On the Jackrabbits’ next possession, Hardee spotted Chase Hall cutting to the basket. Hall converted a traditional 3-point play.
Bowie was down just one point, 30-29, with less than a minute left in Tuesday’s Conference 3A Region 2 quarterfinal at Justin Northwest High School.
But, the Jackrabbits had to foul – and Zeke Vaughan and Hardee both fouled out – and that’s as close as they would get as Dallas Faith sank foul shots and claimed a 39-32 victory.
It was a defensive, deliberate and debilitating game.
“They had a good defensive team, and they held the ball a lot on offense,” Bowie head coach Doug Boxell said. “They were disciplined, and it was hard to force turnovers.”
Boxell said Bowie’s offense didn’t execute well enough in the game, and the Jackrabbits made good on only 12-of-38 field goals (32 percent). Read more, and see the complete box score, in the March 5 Bowie News.
