Bowie High School’s softball team wrapped up its own tournament on Saturday with a convincing 10-4 victory over Conference 4A Springtown.
Jayde Brezina provided four RBIs and Kellbie Throckmorton didn’t allow any runs during her three innings of work.
“We hit the ball well, and we found ways to get on base,” said second-year Bowie head coach Brant Farris. “We were able to get leads in both of those games.”
Farris heaped praise on Throckmorton, who allowed four hits in three innings, but didn’t issue any walks.
“Kellbie did a great job of hitting spots, and she was able to move the ball in and out,” Farris said. “She kept them off-balance.”
Throckmorton induced Springtown into several pop-ups and grounders.
