The Bowie High School softball team has won its most recent pair of District 3A-9 games by having one extremely productive inning.
The Lady Rabbits pushed across six runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat Boyd 7-6 on Friday, overcoming a 5-1 deficit.
Monday proved to be a mirror image as the Lady Rabbits bounced back from a 3-0 deficit, scoring six runs in the fourth to squelch City View 7-5.
With those victories, Bowie stands atop District 3A-9 with a record of 11-6-2, 3-0.
Bowie played Jacksboro at home on Tuesday.
“Those were two big wins for us,” Bowie head softball coach Brant Farris said. “The girls showed fortitude. They put up a fight and don’t give up, and for these girls, it’s something I can’t coach.” Read more, and see the complete box score, in the March 16 Bowie News.
