Nocona City Council to meet on Tuesday

The Nocona City Council will meet at 5 p.m. March 8.

The council will consider entering into a joint election agreement with Nocona Independent School District for the May 7 general election.

There also will be discussion on accepting transfer of the state’s interest of a 1.4330 tract of land on U.S. Highway 82, located in front of the Tales N’ Trails Museum.

The council will be reviewing the annual financial report for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2015 and several requests will be made from the Nocona Economic Development Corporation for a loan and two grants.

Other items on the agenda include the re-appointing of Dorothy Crabtree and Ruth Sewell as board members for the Library Advisory Board and the consideration of bids to mow the Nocona Cemetery for 2016.

The meeting will close with review of architectural plans for the Justin Building remodel.

Brief agenda awaits city council

Members of the Bowie City Council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. on May 13 in council chambers.
The meeting opens with a proclamation for Emergency Medical Services Week.
City Manager Bert Cunningham will report on recent rainfall problems, Smythe Street sidewalk project and the substation work.
There is only one item of new business an ordinance related to speed limits on specific streets. Public comments and approval of minutes wrap up the agenda.

The board of directors of the Amon Carter Lake Water Supply Corporation will meet at 6 p.m. at Carter Lake Baptist Church 4759 FM 1125.
Agenda items include an engineer’s presentation and resolution workshop with Daniel Deweber and Prairie Branch Properties.
