Early voting in Nocona enters its final few days
City of Nocona and Nocona Independent School District voters will wrap up early voting Friday as they prepare for the May 7 elections.
Early voting continues through April 29. Ballots can be cast from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. each day. Hours are extended from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 2 and May 3.
All voting is at city hall located at 100 Cooke Street. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday 155 ballots had been cast.
There are three places up for election on the city council. Candidates are are: Incumbents Tracy O’Neal, Bob Ferguson and Steve Tettleton, and Lynn Roberts, former councilman and mayor.
The only item on the NISD ballot is a $15.1 million bond proposal to build a new high school.

Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases
The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
