HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Weber’s double propels Bowie

The rally started innocently enough as Carter Shackelford opened the bottom of the sixth inning with a walk.
Gabe Allen then reached base on a Henrietta error, and that set the wheels in motion as the Bowie High School baseball team pushed across five runs and ultimately topped the Bearcats 9-3 in this District 3A-9 game.
“We were able to manufacture runs (again),” Bowie head baseball coach Ryan Rogers said. “That sixth inning was the haymaker, and Kamry (Weber) blew the thing open.”
Kamry Weber smacked a double to score Keck Jones and Trace Hardee. Earlier in the frame, Jones drew his third walk of the contest, and Hardee singled to reach base.
Bowie improved to 10-7-1, 4-0 in District 3A-9, heading into Tuesday’s game at Holliday. The Jackrabbits return home to face Nocona on Friday. Read more, and see the box score and District 3A-9 standings, in the March 30 Bowie News.
