Bowie City Council approves two proclamations for May

Bowie City Councilors presented a pair of proclamations for May and received a report on a new library project.
Main Street Bowie received a proclamation for May as National Historic Preservation Month. Historical preservation is a key tenet of Main Street as its seeks to stimulate and revitalize commercial districts.
Main Street Manager Shannon Skiles and several members of the board were present to accept the proclamation read by Mayor Larry Slack.
The Motorcycle and Safety Awareness Month proclamation was presented to several interested motorcycle enthusiasts and seeks to encourage drivers to be aware of the dangers for all parties as they work for safe roads.
