Saint Jo seeks teams for July 4th
Teams are now sought for the 14th annual Saint Jo 4th of July Ice cream contest.
Teams are wanted to make ice cream and compete for the braggin’ rights for the best ice cream. Winners receive cash prizes which are donated to a Montague County youth organization of their choice.
Popular vote cast by those who taste and independent judges will determine the winners.
Visitors to the July 4th celebration will taste ice cream and vote for the winners. To participate call Randie Burton at 995-2964.
Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
