The Texas Rangers were called late Tuesday night to investigate an officer-involved shooting that was the climax of a high-speed chase beginning in Nocona and ended in the small town of Myra in Cooke County.
At 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Bobby Lyn Buck, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Carroll Johnson. The JP had been called to the crime scene at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday near Sanders and Olive Street in the unincorporated town of Myra, according to the Gainesville Daily Register.
The death was reportedly at the hands of a Saint Jo police officer, but the identity of the officer has not been released.

Judges named to preside over DA Hall cases

Judges have been named for the two cases involving 97th District Attorney Casey Hall, including the indictment for theft and a petition for removal as DA.
On July 11, Judge David L. Evans, presiding judge for the Eighth Administration Region of Texas, assigned E. Lee Gabriel to handle the indictment case against Hall. The judge then named Bruce McFarling for the removal petition case.
The two-term DA Hall was indicted by the Montague County Grand Jury July 15 on a charge of theft of property $2,500 to $30,000, a state jail felony. The allegations stem from reported misappropriation of state grant funds.
