MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: Workman progressing with Spinners

Former Bowie High School standout and Hall of Honor member Brandon Workman continues on the road to rehabilitation.
Workman is currently pitching for the Lowell Spinners, a short-season Single-A team based in Massachusetts affiliated with the Boston Red Sox.
On Aug. 4, Workman pitched two scoreless innings versus Vermont. He gave up one hit and struck out two batters.
Workman followed that with two more innings at Staten Island on Aug. 7.
He allowed an earned run on one hit and two walks. He also struck out two.
So far this season, Workman has a record of 0-2 with a 6.43 earned-run average.
He’s pitched in five games with eight strikeouts, four walks, six runs allowed (five earned) and seven hits.
