Saint Jo Mayor Brad Bugg resigns

By ERIC VICCARO

Brad Bugg has resigned as mayor of Saint Jo after spending a little more than one year in the position.

“I don’t have the right schedule,” Bugg said, “and I just didn’t feel like we were going in the direction I had hoped to go.”

Bugg’s spot as mayor is up for election in November, as are two council member slots currently held by Tim West and Michael Terrilli.

West will preside at council meetings going forward, said Sherri Davis, Saint Jo city secretary.

Bugg sent a short resignation letter to city hall last month, and it was accepted.

The mayor’s position in Saint Jo has been like a game of musical chairs in recent years. Bugg replaced Chris Stewart. Before Stewart, Dustin Anderson served as mayor.

“I think overall it was a positive year for us,” he said. “I felt we continued to move forward, but I also thought it was time to step away.”
