Nocona Chamber readies annual banquet

Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 Nocona Chamber of Commerce banquet scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 11 at the Veranda Inn Events Center.
The theme for this year’s banquet is “Making Nocona Great.” Table decorating sponsors are being sought. To reserve one call the chamber at 825-3526.
Tyler Thomas, Nocona Edward Jones broker, will serve as president of the board of directors.
Speaker for the event will be Wayne Ludwig who does the Texas Cattle Trails History Group Facebook page. Along with his program the chamber will present its annual awards including Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Group of the Year and Citizen of the Year. Nominations for those awards closed on April 1.
Guests will enjoy an Italian pasta dinner. Tickets are on sale for $20.

Bowie fish fry to assist youth fair sales on Jan. 4

Enjoy a fish fry and live music concert on Jan. 4 all to support the 4-H and FFA youth of Montague County as they compete in the annual youth fair.
The annual Bowie fish fry for the Bowie buyers group will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. at the Bowie Community Center. Cost is $10 per plate. There will be a live auction at 7 p.m.
The evening’s concert will feature Dax Davis. Live music begins at 8:30 p.m. with the Davis concert at 9:30 p.m. Cost for the concert is $25 per ticket and $20 for a student, or $300 for a reserved table for eight.
