County receives positive audit for fiscal 2015-16

Montague County Commissioners Monday received a positive financial report for 2016.
Michael Edgin of Edgin, Parkman, Fleming & Fleming, PC, presented the audit, highlighting several aspects of the audit.
“We have an unmodified opinion on financial statements and a positive increase in almost every fund,” explained Edgin. “So overall, it was a very positive year.”
At the end of the 2016 fiscal year, the balance for general fund was $9.7 million with an increase of $628,000 change in fund balance from the previous year.
