Prairie Valley spikers to open at Chillicothe

The Prairie Valley High School volleyball team will open the regular season on Aug. 8 at Chillicothe.
It starts the Lady Bulldogs journey as the team tries to build on an eight-win campaign from the 2016 season.
Prairie Valley’s schedule has one unique quirk this season as the District 2A-10 opener will be on Aug. 25 at Lindsay. The Lady Knights will then visit the Lady Bulldogs on Sept. 19.
The team participates in two tournaments from Aug. 10-12 at the Bryson Tournament and then on Sept. 2 at Gold-Burg in Stoneburg.
Plenty of Lady Bulldogs were recognized for their success this season with Shelby Roof as the newcomer of the year. Brooklynn Messer and Taylor Carter were first-team district selections, and CeCe Mahin earned a second-team nod.
