Hockey returning to Wichita Falls

After a year with the nearest hockey being 90 minutes away in Dallas, folks in the Wichita Falls area will have themselves a hockey team to cheer again.
It became official following a press conference June 28 with officials from the USA Central Hockey League.
The team will play 48 games, with the first games starting in late October. The new franchise wishes to distinguish itself from the past franchises and therefore will not call itself the Wildcats. The Wildcats played in the North American Hockey League from 2004-2017.
Instead, the team is opening up naming the team to the fans of the community on its Facebook page. News of management and coaching hires are still to be announced.
