BHS Bass Club win club’s first champion of the lake trophy

The Bowie High School Bass Club won the Texas High School Bass Association North Division Lake Texoma Tournament on Nov. 17.
With a combined weight of 50.93 pounds among its top three teams, Bowie beat out 27 other schools with 187 teams to win the club’s first champion of the lake award.
The team of Blake Allen and Will Hamilton had the best day for Bowie, catching five fish weighing 18.64 pounds and good for second place at the whole tournament.
The team of Ian Ashley and Cooper Gamblin also placed high, catching five fish weighing 16.22 pounds and finishing fifth overall. Jeremy Stone fishing alone also caught five fish weighing in at 16.07 pounds and finished sixth overall.
Other teams that came away from the day catching fish was the team of Gunnar Valverde and Zach Kaiser, who caught two fish weighing 5.32 pounds and Ayden Hodges and Riley Blackburn, who caught two fish weighing 5.30 pounds.
The next tournament for the North Texas Division is scheduled for Dec. 1 at Lake Ray Hubbard.
