Bowie tennis plays at Sanger

The Bowie tennis team competed at a Sanger tournament last week on March 7-8.
Featuring teams from Anna, Bridgeport, Decatur, Gainesville, Krum, Lake Dallas, Ponder and Sanger, the Jackrabbits had their work cut out for them.
All but Ponder and Bowie were 4A classification or higher, but the Jackrabbits still had some players find some success against the tough competition.
On the first day of competition that saw boys singles and doubles compete as well as mixed doubles, Bowie had two teams bring back hardware.
The boys’ double’s team of Spencer Hopson and Zachary Logan won the consolation bracket. It is the second time this season the team has won medals.
Also the same day, the mixed doubles team of Camberley Gunter and Victor Tran won the consolation bracket as well. It was their second tournament in a row winning hardware as a pair.
On the next day, the girl’s double’s team of Anna Cortes and Jordan Lavoie also won the consolation bracket at the tournament. It is the teams second straight tournament winning the consolation bracket.
