Bowie’s Twisted Oaks Par-Tee event attracts 51 teams and pays $25,000

The Bowie Twisted Oaks Golf Club hosted its Par-Tee event on Saturday and Sunday that had a great turnout.
While the event has history back to 1963, it has not been held in recent years.
Co-owner Kasey Denson reported 51 teams competed in the two days, with the format being two-man low ball.
With that many teams playing, close to $25,000 in prize money was given out.
“It way exceeded our expectations,” Denson said.
The overall winning team was Cody Massa and Steve Tettleton, who were paid the $2,000 first place prize.
The second place team of Mikel Martinson and Logan Waldrip won $1,500.
Denson said two players who play on the Canadian Tour was the farthest he remembers competitors traveling from.
Also Denson said either eight or nine collegiate golfers also competed.
