Budgetary issues fill Monday’s Bowie Council
Multiple budgetary issues fill the Bowie City Council agenda when its members meet at 6 p.m. on July 22.
The council will resume a budget workshop that began last Monday allowing department heads to offer their requests. Enterprise will offer an agreement for fleet management.
Considerations to establish two restricted accounts for the fire department using the county subsidy for future ambulance purchases and one on the ambulance supplemental payment program also will be reviewed.
A proposal for a restricted account for preserving real property sales also will be presented.
The proposed budgets for the Bowie Economic Development Corporation and the Bowie 4B Sales Tax Corporation also will be presented.
Rules and regulations for Selma Park will be examined, along with a recommendation from the planning and zoning commission for a
The second reading of the ordinance calling the Nov. 5 election will be given.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
