Jim Bowie Days Assn. presents plaque to city

Members of the Jim Bowie Days Association attended Monday’s Bowie City Council meeting and presented Mayor Gaylynn Burris and Parks Department Head Clyde Johnson with a plaque the Jim Bowie Days Rodeo received as an honor from the UPR Association as its ranked 14th in the 300 rodeos presented across the nation. JBD Association President Scott Head made the presentation along with members of the board including Charmie Sanders, Janice Blahuta, Carol Head and Diane Higgins. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
