With less than two weeks left for filing, primarily incumbents have signed up for the Nocona May 2 elections.
The filing period ends on Feb. 14 with ballots open for the Nocona City Council, Nocona School Board and Nocona Hospital District.
In the NISD races, both incumbents. J.W. Patterson, place five, and Jay Womack, place seven, have filed for re-election in the two seats that are open.
The hospital district board also has all three incumbents filed: Charles May, Cris Lemon and Ron Brown.
However, in the Nocona City Council races there are three places up on the ballot and none of the incumbents have filed. The seats filled by Tracy O’Neal, Steve Tettleton and Bob Ferguson are on the ballot. Randy Duckworth, a former member of the North Montague County Water District Board, is the only candidate to have signed up for the ballot as of Monday.
