Spiller takes Texas House 68 runoff election

Published

on

Jacksboro attorney David Spiller won the Texas House 68 runoff election this week defeating Craig Carter 4,158-2,452.
It was an election where early voting was delayed by the winter storm and the end of a long election season leading to a low overall voter turnout of 6.62 percent across the 22-county district.
Spiller and Carter became the runoff candidates following a five-man runoff in January where no one received the required majority. Spiller took 20 of the 22 counties. Carter won Cooke 839-770 and Floyd, 108-105.
