Bowie City Council meet Monday
Members of the Bowie City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on April 22 facing a relatively brief agenda lead off by the city manager’s report.
Bert Cunningham, manager, will offer his report on the following topics: Nelson Street project; sewer line project and phase two of sewer line bid opening; Texas Department of Agriculture; Strategic Government Resources Muni Purchasing Group; Resilient Communities program planning grant; downtown revitalization grant and substation improvements.
The only new business is a replat request recommendation for the area at 805 Hulme will be presented by the planning and zoning commission and the reappointment of seven members to the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.

A 57-year-old Nocona died in a two-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 677 on Aug. 9.
According to the Department of Public Safety report, the accident occurred at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday near mile marker 188 on FM 677.
Jamie Lynn Hunter, Nocona, was driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra southbound on FM 677.
The second vehicle was a 2026 Ford F-350 driven by Eric Leslie Florance, 40, Guthrie, OK who was northbound on FM 677. The report states the Nissan crossed into the northbound lane. Florance attempted to avoid a collision, but was unable to avoid the car.
Hunter was pronounced deceased due to her injuries. Florance and two minor passengers, age 13 and 10, were transported to Nocona General Hospital for minor injuries.
During Monday’s commissioner’s court session the panel approved a burn ban for all outdoor burning for up to 90 days. See the full order below.
