Sheriff asks residents to register security cameras

Published

on

The Montague County Sheriff’s Office’s Community Camera Program is a collaborative initiative that encourages residents and businesses to register their privately owned security cameras with the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Marshall Thomas says by voluntarily sharing your camera’s location, you can play an essential role in solving crimes and enhancing public safety.
He emphasized registering your cameras DOES NOT allow the staff of the sheriff’s office access to see your live video stream or recordings – it only enables investigators to know a camera is present at your location and easily request video evidence should an incident occur in your area.
How It Works

  1. Register Your Camera Use our simple online form at montaguesheriff.com under the drop down Camera Registry Program tab to register your security camera(s).
  2. Read the full story in the Thursday Bowie News.
