LOCAL: Bowie boosters make two purchases
The Bowie Athletic Boosters made a pair of purchases during its regularly scheduled meeting on Sept. 21 in the Bowie High School “Commons.”
The boosters approved the purchase of new reversible uniforms for the junior high school basketball teams.
The cost is $2,100 for 50 uniforms.
Both boys’ basketball coach Doug Boxell and girls’ basketball coach Colby Davis-Pastusek put in a request for the boosters to purchase Krossover softball.
The software costs $4,600. With Krossover, coaches and athletes can better track statistics. Highlight reels can also be assembled to share with recruiters. The boosters agreed to the purchase.
Davis-Pastusek reported the girls’ basketball fall league will begin on Sept. 28. Five teams will participate with Bowie, Wichita Falls Rider, Alvord, Muenster and Bridgeport.
She also hopes to add more pictures from the Jackrabbit and Lady Rabbit basketball programs’ storied histories in corridors surrounding the gymnasium.
Boxell also discussed the upcoming season schedule and gave the boosters information on the annual tournament. Read more in the weekend Bowie News.
