Bowie Memorial Hospital Authority received two bids to purchase the main hospital building and will begin its “due diligence” process in vetting bidders.

The board met Monday afternoon to review multiple bids on six properties. After a half-hour executive session they took no action other than to begin negotiations with bidders on the primary hospital property and the banks that hold hospital debt.

Five property bids were opened, plus bids for mineral leases. Two companies bid for the hospital and rehabilitation building, with both indicating they would operate a hospital. Texas General Hospital and the Royce D. Brough Group made the bids. Read the full story on the meeting in the mid-week News.

Please see the related story on other property bids that were opened Monday including a large set of bidders seeking to buy the mineral interests.
