LOCAL: Spring sports seasons ramping up
The Saint Jo High School track and field team was the first to open the season on Feb. 25 at Paradise High School.
Look in the mid-week Bowie News on March 2 for details.
A track meet originally scheduled for Feb. 25 in Henrietta was cancelled on account of the Bearcat boys’ basketball team still competing in the University Interscholastic League playoffs.
Bowie was to compete in that event.
Instead, Bowie will open the season on Feb. 29 with a junior high school meet at Nocona also featuring the host Indians, Gold-Burg, Forestburg and Saint Jo.
There will be a high school meet at Nocona on March 3, with Bowie, Gold-Burg, Forestburg, Saint Jo and Nocona all in action.
Bowie golf
The Bowie High School boys’ golf team will begin the regular season on Feb. 29 with a tournament at Graham.
The tournament is set to begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The girls opened the season two weeks ago at the same location. Read more in the Feb. 27 Bowie News.
