DPS investigating two accidents in Montague County
Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating a pair of weekend accidents in Montague County reported Sgt. Dan Buesing, public information officers for the DPS Wichita Falls office.
On July 2, mid-afternoon on U.S. 82 near Three Bars Ranch west of Nocona a motorcycle driven by Anthony Dyers, 33, Nocona, crashed. Buesing said a specific time was not available. Dyer was air lifted to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries. A 2000 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Jeff McKay, Gainesville, was involved, but McKay was not injured. Buesing said he has no further updates on the incident or Dyer’s condition. Traffic was stopped along the highway during the accident scene investigation at 3:45 p.m..
On July 4, about 10:20 a.m. on U.S. Highway 82 and Farm-to-Market 1816 there was a single vehicle crash with no injuries, but some property damage. Buesing said Abraham Enns, 48, Paris, TX was westbound on Hwy. 82 when the accident occurred. Enns was towing a trailer when he failed to drive in single lane entered the right barrow ditch which caused the units to roll over damaging a fence. There were no injuries.

Gold-Burg High one-act prepares for public show on Sunday
The cast and crew of Gold-Burg High School’s state-bound one-act play “Interview,” will present a public show at 4 p.m. on May 5 in the Bowie Junior High Auditorium.
Admission is $5 and there will be a bake sale to raise funds for travel and other OAP expenses. The show is directed by Linda Fitzner.
The group will travel to Austin to perform on May 13 for the state title. This is the school’s first time to take a play to the state contest.

Voters decide today on two ISD bonds
Voters in Bowie and Forestburg Independent School Districts will have their say Saturday as both entities offer up bond issues to improve infrastructure.
Early voting came to an end on Tuesday with a total of 1,230 people casting their ballots.
On election day the polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at three locations: Bowie Senior Citizens Center, Forestburg ISD Library and Sunset City Hall. Voters can cast their ballots at any of these locations due to countywide voting.
