Police work two-vehicle wreck Thursday

Bowie Police and first responders are working a two-vehicle accident at Wise and Mill that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. today. The vehicles involved were a Suburban and a Ford pickup. Bowie Police investigated this two-vehicle accident at Wise and Mill at 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 28. Patricia Costello, Iowa Park, was driving the Suburban, north across the intersection while Kris Mowery, Gainesville, was driving the Ford F-150 pickup westbound on East Wise. Police report Costello failed to remain stopped at the red light and turned right colliding with the pickup. She said she did not see the pickup. There were no injuries, and each vehicle had damage to their left and right front quarters.

City staff examines new generators for water plant

City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
