Directors of the Bowie Economic Development Corporation met for its month meeting at 8 a.m. on Feb. 27.
The board continues work on finalizing the Bowie Business Park covenants, conditions and restrictions. Janis Crawley, executive director, said the board will make a request to the planning and zoning commission for a zoning revision at the park which would lower a portion of the heavy industrial area to light industrial and also expand the commercial zone at the park.
Once maps for the proposal are prepared they will be sent to the P&Z for consideration. Crawley said the BEDC has signed a sales contract with WLSCO, LLC to purchase two acres at the park pending approval of the amendment to the zoning ordinance. WLSCO, LLC, owned by Patrick Walters, has plans to build an “office garden complex,” which could develop into a collection of buildings.
The board also made a change in its meeting schedule going back to the preview second Wednesday of each month for its meetings at 8 a.m.
