The Bowie City Council took the first step Tuesday night in applying for a $9.3 million loan from the Texas Water Development Board accepting proposals for bond counsel, engineering and financial advisor to start the process.

Bowie Councilors accepted contract proposals from McCall, Parkhurst & Horton I.I.P for bond counsel procurement, Government Capital Securities Corporation for financial advising and Hayter Engineering Inc.
