SPRINGTOWN – Jim Bob Fain, 61, passed away on Sept. 26, 2024 after battling complications from a stroke and heart failure.
As he rides off into the sunset, reunited with those who have gone before him, we invite you to a celebration of Jim Bob’s life at 11 a.m. on Oct. 2 at the Cooke County Cowboy Church located at 8207 Hwy 82 East, Gainesville, followed by a meal.
Born in Clay County on Aug. 18, 1963, Jim Bob Fain was born to Charles Alfred Fain and Gloria Ann Gray. He was the oldest of seven children.
Jim Bob was known as a hard worker and a reliable friend to many. His easy-going nature and gift for conversation were legendary—he could strike up a chat with just about anyone, anytime. He had a love for country life, horses and classic country music. He also had a reputation for being incredibly frugal, often joking that he was so tight he squeaked when he walked. His knack for finding a deal was unmatched, and it became a trait his family and friends fondly remember with a smile.
He is survived by his only son, Casey Fain and wife Jenny Fain. He was a proud grandfather to his five grandsons, Knox, Fritz, Theo, Othniel and Veran.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cowboy Church in his honor, in lieu of flowers.
