Grand Jury takes no action in fatal Nocona, Sunset officer-involved shooting cases
The Montague County Grand Jury took no action Monday in a pair of fatal officer-involved shooting incidents.
Investigative reports from the Texas Rangers on the Jan. 28 shooting of Alan Alverson outside Bowie , and the shooting of County Deputy Larry Hostetter on Feb. 8 in Nocona were presented to the grand jury panel by District Attorney Paige Williams.
The DA said the panel deliberated from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Monday. In both cases, no action was taken explained Williams, as the the panel deemed the actions by the officers did not warrant criminal culpability. The district attorney reviewed the investigative reports with the local media on Tuesday. Read the full story on both cases in your mid-week News. Top photo – Deputy Larry Hostetter
