BOWIE FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK: Cottontail 8’s smother Panthers

The Bowie Junior High School eighth-grade team ended the season with a thud, pounding Paradise in a shutout victory.
Bowie’s conquest was so decisive the team didn’t punt until the fourth quarter. The Cottontails ended the season outscoring its final two opponents by a whopping 88-0.
Everything that could go right did for Bowie.
The team scored a safety, recovered a pair of kickoffs and took advantage of several other Paradise snafus.
Bowie was up 22-0 with one second remaining in the first quarter, and the rout was on.
Chance Tomlinson scored via touchdown pass – from Daniel Mosley on a halfback option – plus a 29-yard run and a 55-yard kickoff return.
Skinner added a pair of TD runs. Joey Crawford recovered a muff in the fourth quarter to cap off the great things Bowie did during the game. Read more on the junior varsity, eighth-grade and seventh-grade games in the weekend Bowie News.
